First of all, we wanted to wish you and your family health and safety during this difficult time. GreenCardHero is closely monitoring the coronavirus’ impact on green card applications. Here are some quick updates:
Applications are being processed as usual
As of today, March 20, 2020, USCIS is processing green card applications as usual. USCIS offices are closed to the public until at least April 1, but still are performing duties that do not involve contact with the public.
Biometrics and interview appointments may be rescheduled
If you have a biometrics appointment or a green card interview scheduled during this time, USCIS may reschedule them. You can learn more details about the rescheduling procedures here and the office closures here.
The medical exam can be submitted separately later after Form I-485
Usually we suggest that applicants submit the medical exam report (Form I-693) together with Form I-485, because this is the simplest way to make sure USCIS receives your Form I-693. However, during this special time, you may also choose to submit Form I-693 at a later time, either by mail after filing your Form I-485 to the location specified in your most recent communication with USCIS (for example, a Request for Evidence letter from USCIS), or in person at an interview in a USCIS field office (if an interview is required). You can learn more about the details here (under the section “Where to File”).
GreenCardHero is fully operational and supported
Our green card application software will continue to be fully operational and supported during the COVID-19 outbreak. We are here if you need any help!
